POSITION KEY FACTS
  • Role: Senior Machine Learning Engineer

  • Scope of the position: full time

  • Working location: remote, hybrid and/or from our Berlin office, main residency: germany (means you should have your main residency in germany, but you can work remotely)

  • Starting date: from April/May 2024 , permanent contract

  • Compensation: we have a transparent team compensation and benefits system in which we classify you according to your professional experience - an adjustment/evaluation will take place after the 6-month probationary period

YOUR TASKS

As our first Senior Machine Learning Engineer at score4more, you will lead AI/ML model project development leveraging natural language and quantitative sustainability data for AI and machine learning and model training for application in various platform use cases. You can build on existing models already in use and enhance those towards more comprehensive architecture embedding AI/ML into score4more platform application. 

Specific task areas are:

  • AI/ML Architecture: Develop an AI/ML technical architecture integrated with score4more back-end platform 

  • AI/ML Model Development: Develop and train large language models to solve real-world problems. This includes machine learning, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and other AI/ML technologies.

  • Data Processing and Analytics: Prepare, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to derive insights and patterns, which will be used in model development.

  • Model Evaluation: Implement rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and robustness of AI/ML models.

  • Integration: Integrate AI/ML models into existing systems and applications, making them accessible and usable by end-users.

  • Project lead: Lead AI/ML project in technical project management role coordindating internal and external project team members e.g. scientific partners

  • Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and contribute to the research and development of novel AI/ML technologies that can be applied to the company's projects.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, software developers, and product managers to define project goals and requirements, and ensure AI/ML solutions align with business objectives.

  • Performance Optimization: Optimize AI/ML models for speed, efficiency, and scalability to handle large datasets and high workloads.

  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for AI/ML models, workflows, and processes for knowledge sharing and future reference.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to identify and address issues in AI/ML-systems.

  • Adaptability: Be open to learning and working on a wide range of AI/ML-related tasks and projects, depending on the company's evolving needs.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

What you bring - "must have":

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML or a related field.

  • More than 7+ years of development and proven experience in AI and machine learning model development 

  • Initial project leadership experiences, mentoring younger developers, managing projects, ambitions to coordinate tech roles 

  • Strong AI/ML model training and related programming skills in languages such as Python (see Tech Stack)

  • Proficiency in data management and analysis using data analytics, data mining and data warehouse tools 

  • Knowledge in deep learning, neural networks, and relevant libraries.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation

  • You have start-up experience, preferably early stage, and have already built structures and developed strategies from scratch.

  • You work on eye level with your colleagues and consider what is best for the team. Diversity & inclusion are important to you.
